A new concept from the team behind the massively successful wine bar, Monvínic, Fastvínic pays – a particularly gastronomic – homage to the most humblest of snacks, the sandwich. Now, posh sandwich joints are nothing new, but throwing together the finest local and ecological Catalan produce, wines chosen to match the food by Monvínic’s team of sommeliers, the playful, contemporary interiors by Alfons Tost Interiorisme and a headstrong commitment to helping the future of our planet, Fastvínic is a very welcoming proposition.
Aside from the Riedel glasses and Delica wooden trays, every element of the informally stylish interior is recycled – part of the sustainability commitment that has been backed by a LEED certification, awarded by the US Green Building Council – and the ‘green’ theme continues with natural materials, earthy colour scheme and decidedly more greenery than your average self-service restaurant. High quality and carefully considered product, edgy, unequivocally stylish design and a courageous promise to do right by Mother Nature, Fastvínic is a rather special little venture.
