Craft beer, and pizza? It’s a winning combination that needs little else to achieve the We Heart seal of approval. But then they say those pizzas are made from “lovingly sourced” ingredients – that include flour from Molino Caputo in Naples, yeah, Naples. Oh, and there’s charcuterie from Tuscany-based Antica Macelleria Falorni. And they do Padrón peppers too, god I love Padrón peppers – I could munch them for hours, hunting for the hot one. The craft beer? It’s courtesy of the exceptionally brilliant Bath Ales, well, the whole pub is actually – and they don’t just stock their own South West goodness, there’s all manner of delights from the rest of the British Isles, Europe and the US to boot.
But then, I haven’t even mentioned the design yet… Christ on a bike! Local boys Simple Simon Design have really hit the nail on the head. It’s a pub, a good old-fashioned boozer, and it looks like one – but there’s that hint of eclectic canteen cool, beat-up Brooklyn diner chic that makes Beerd a real winner. But anyway, they had us at craft beer and pizza…
