With a philosophy of “smart design” – small-scale production of handmade objects that utilise recycled and upcycled materials for minimal cost – Homeless is a platform to bring new talent to the fore.
For their first annual design competition, their showroom – in the heart of Milan’s Brera Design District – showcased the staggering quality of entries, and its charming ramshackle aesthetic was one of our favourite collections at this year’s Milan Design Week. Cristiano Mino’s Micol Lamp won the award, chosen by the famed Campana brothers, but we were big fans of chairs by Carla Cervera (Wardrobe), and Fernando Nacarato (Cadeira Espeto).
