All aboard Erik’s Designbuss, a mobile design studio which brings the creative to the customer. Swede Erik Olovsson decided mobile was the way forward and set out to challenge the conventions of the design business. His Tardis-like bus, complete with print shop, photo studio, meeting space and library improbably shoehorned inside, means businesses don’t have to leave their premises for a consultation, and can see their projects taking shape for themselves.
“It is rare that a designer gets a deeper insight into a client’s business,” he said. “It’s easy to hang around at the office and surf design blogs instead of finding inspiration in real life.” Hear, hear.
Offering everything in the way of graphic design, from logos to menus to signs, Erik is on the road touring Sweden, picking up commissions by advertising at each of his “bus stops”, and if you want to flag him down, you can visit www.eriksdesignbuss.se to find out where he is, get in touch, or read more about his Designbuss project. And we’re assured that, unlike regular buses, there are no Special Brew-drinking crazies on board and you don’t need the correct change to travel.
