Alchemy. An odd philosophy, famous for its crackpot pursuit of turning base metals into precious ones. To Athens, an ancient city in an ancient country that knows a thing or two about philosophy, comes a patisserie designed around a modern imagining of an alchemist’s lab.
The new home of noted Greek pâtissier and TV chef Stelios Parliaros, Sweet Alchemy takes mystery and moody lighting and pairs it with contemporary scientific features to produce a place where magic happens in the realm of pastry creation.
Architect Kois Stelios and his team based the interior design on a principle of transparency. The rod-made shelving allows natural light to flood through from the outside, and daytime variations of light influence the mood inside accordingly. Internal spots also play a big part in the atmospheric interior.
