In creating a calming environment in which to heal the mind, Tsung-Jen Lin of architects Crox International has taken an elegant, rather than luxurious, path to enlightenment. The interior is subtle, with classic Chinese motifs, such as bamboo shoots and blossom trees, interspersed within a beautiful wooden construction, which ebbs and flows as though it has been carved out of a solid piece, rather than built from many planks of lauan timber. The traditional has been augmented by the somewhat futuristic in the metallic light studded ceilings and occasionally shiny upholstery.
