Ah Miami. The place where you party in the city where the heat is on, all night on the beach till the break of dawn. The place where Crockett and Tubbs bust some balls in pink linen suits, and protect the locals from the fearsome likes of Phil Collins. The place where Art Basel Miami has been joining its Swiss sister art fair since 2002 – spiralling into one of the planet’s most talked about cultural events with increasing furore each year. The place where the lovely Kai & Sunny went to show off their equally lovely wares, sending us back these images and a whole heap of jealously for us to wallow in.
The Brighton-based duo were invited by Erica Boeke, Andrew Kilbourn and the team of Architectural Digest to exhibit at the Mark Cunningham designed ADOasis @ The Raleigh during the fair. Billed as a “chic VIP hideaway”, where “art and design unwind during Art Basel Miami Beach”, the artists had their work seen by a whole host of A-list glitterati that even Don Johnson and Will Smith would have approved of – the annual show living up to its reputation as the world’s swankiest art event.
And the work? Well, it’s Kai & Sunny guys, so it was brilliant – of course. Feast your eyes below, but don’t think of Miami too much when you look outside at the gloomy British winter, it’s Christmas and you want to keep that smile on your face.
