Oddfish certainly chose its name well to reflect the concept – a diverse collection of fashion and designware from independent producers, unashamedly aimed at the hipster market, located in the port area of Beirut.
Dangle a line into the dazzlingly lit waters of Oddfish and who knows what kind of catch you might land. A black and white print t-shirt? A vase? A pink skull which looks like it might have once been Andy Warhol? Anything is possible. Stocking indy producers from Europe and beyond, and limited product runs, the folk behind Oddfish keep the merchandise fresh and aim to offer new gear to shoppers every time they stop by.
In keeping with the industrial location the store interior, courtesy of Maia Aoun Sayad, is sparse and functional in both the colour scheme and fixtures. Black, white and grey are the order of the day, and the products generally follow suit bar the occasional flash of fluorescence. Quite a catch.
