We wouldn’t want you to think we’re thumbing our noses at you when we say that this event was good, and you missed it, but it was, and you probably did. Don’t blame us though – the Alley-Oop Design Exhibition was a one-night only affair, so unless you were in the vicinity of the Poketo store in Los Angeles over the weekend, it was a tough one to catch. We couldn’t resist showing what was missed however, visually knockout as it was.
For readers who aren’t up with their basketball terms, the name refers to a move in which the team-mate’s set-up is as important as the scoring finish, and the event was all about collaboration. In fact, it was a perfect example of how constituent parts can create something altogether greater as a whole, with the design work of Eric Trine and Will Bryant assembled at Poketo forming art-installation-like pieces. Trine is the three-dimensional half of the partnership, working in furniture and so forth, while Bryant provided the illustrations. We’ll do our best to tip you off beforehand in future, but in the meantime sit back enjoy the collaborative fruits of Trine and Bryant’s labours from the comfort of your own screens, wherever they may be.
Update: Extended by popular demand? Alley-Oop will be on show at Poketo for the next four weeks, looks like you may get the chance to see it for yourself after all…
