We know from watching Mad Men that advertising agencies will do anything to keep their clients happy, but Yellow Submarine in Antwerp is going the extra mile to make their accounts feel at home – opening a bed and breakfast and coffee bar upstairs.
This multi-faceted approach to business diversification is a growing trend at the moment, and Yellow Submarine are using the extra footfall (that’s people coming through the door to you non-retail innocents) as a source of inspiration and information – bringing the outside in, as it were. The folks at sculpt(IT) architects plotted this course for the Belgian agency, thankfully leaving the yellow downstairs with the ad guys and girls and bringing a more understated colour scheme to the accommodation in the upper levels. If you like the style of these spaces, the look is aided by Vitra furniture, lighting from Armetide and recreations of the iconic Hokusai wave by Bonavontuur. Forget about the clients, with these new facilities the staff at Yellow Submarine are going to have some killer office parties…
