The devil is in the detail my friend; the precise subtleties and imperfect attributes that combine to make the whole more than just the sum of its parts. Great design is all about attention to detail, and that’s just what we’ve chosen to celebrate as we take part in Pinterest’s Pin It Forward UK campaign. We’ve been active on the visual social network for some time but, when they got in touch to tell us how much they liked our Details board, it got us thinking about how we use it, and how we will continue to do so going forward.
An endless source of visual inspiration, particularly for interior design (just ask anyone who’s spent weeks trawling the site before an impending redecoration), Pinterest allows you to concentrate minutely upon particular constituents of design – our Details board allows us to pick out elements of interiors, products and artworks that we’ve previously featured, but focus on unique angles that may otherwise go unnoticed, yet are undisputedly essential in their overall makeup.
We’re often asked what makes a great design; sure, there’s those unafraid to challenge conformity, those with technical ability that defies logic, innovation, attitude, unwavering visions… but what unites all aspects of virtuoso aesthetic is details. Detail, detail, detail – take care of the finer points, and the overall outcome will look after itself.
