It’s never too early to start planning Christmas presents, and the great thing about fashion shows is they’re always thinking ahead for you – this collection of sweaters, for example, launched at Milan Fashion Week. No one’s wardrobe really needs a comedy jumper, but the MSGM vs Toiletpaper designs manage to stay on the right side of the line between kitsch and crap with an imaginative set of pop art designs produced for both men and women.
The founder of bonkers Italian image magazine Toiletpaper (who we last saw bringing some much needed toilet humour to Milan Design Week) decided he’d like to make his own clothes, and since he can’t draw, turned to his own pages for designs, ranging from the bloody “I Heart You” statement sweater (if We Heart had a dress code, that would be compulsory Friday winter wear) to the more surreal frog burger. Young Italian fashion brand MSGM offered to produce the limited edition sweats, and if you want to get your mitts on one, but can’t get to a MSGM outlet, keep an eye out on web stores such as Lane Crawford and The Corner. And look, there’s even one with reindeer on. Where’s the carol CD?
