Ibiza. It’s not just about plane loads of youths necking eckies and waving glow-sticks around, you know. And yes, you’ve heard this one before: there’s another side to the island, but trust us, there really is something in between 24 hour foam parties and nothingness to be found on the Balearic isle, and that thing is Bloop – the International Proactive Art Festival.
Bloop is spread out over a number of sites around Ibiza’s coastline, with the main action at Bloop HQ in Far Des Coves Blanques, San Antoni de Portmany – but what exactly is going on? Open air galleries and installations. Interactive art experiences. Sunset parties. You name it, and it’s happening, and there are sites in Vila d’Eivissa, the Hippy Market and beyond for those who want to escape the clubbing capital. Bloop is on right now, and will continue until 18th August – the organisers have put together a very handy calendar to let you know what’s on where. What are you waiting for?
