Littlefork may sound like a midwest cattle ranch, but it’s actually a seafood speciality restaurant in the urban jungle of Los Angeles, named after the utensil used to winkle out shellfish. It’s not typically urban though; Sean Knibb of Knibb Design has produced a harmonious interior where neutral and natural are the bywords.
Wood panels with an exaggerated grain are joined by soft grey felt sections that are mirrored in the comfy looking chairs. Further towards the back there’s an area opening outside with a partition wall which emits shafts of light from its slats, watched over by a hovering Sputnik chandelier. Special mention goes to the wildlife that have found their second homes stuck to the wall – true, they would probably have preferred to stay floating on the lake and pouncing on rodents up a mountainside, but any time there’s potential for a Naked Gun stuffed animal joke with your shrimp is probably worth the sacrifice. Actually we’re not sure they are even real. That would be a niche market, replica pose-able ducks…
