Intsight Studio has got us all turned around with its Barcelona interiors – last week we were gorging on delicious desserts at chök, and now we are going in for the main meal at Muy Mío Café. Never fear, we’ve got an insatiable appetite for great design, and there’s always plenty of room for another tasty helping.
Like chök, Muy Mío isn’t one to blow its own trumpet visually, but while the Sant Gervasi restaurant isn’t loud, it can definitely be proud. The impact here is tactile as much as visual; neutral colours are met by raw textures from chairs of metal and wicker, chunky knitted wool cushions, untreated wood shelving and canvas seat covers. Exposed bulbs against the pale walls mean during the week it’s a cool haven, serving healthy and fresh Mediterranean food, but in the evenings at the weekends, the atmosphere hots up and the restaurant becomes a cocktail bar with a DJ.
