Amidst the downtown charm of SoHo’s Crosby street is the flagship locale of Saturdays Surf NYC, a lifestyle brand that encompasses surf culture, authenticity and urban living. Envisioned by founders, Colin Tunstall, Morgan Collett and Josh Rosen, Saturdays opened its doors in 2009. A minimal boutique that provides enthusiasts an outlet to obtain boards, wetsuits and various products which cross pollinate into overlapping subcultures. Unique in its ethos, the space houses curated walls hosting framed spreads from their bi-annual magazine, an espresso bar serving La Colombe coffee and private outdoor space.
The boutique’s success furthered the development of Saturdays’ menswear line and allowed for three additional locations, local and global. New York’s West Village was favoured as an alternate spot to compliment the original. Peaked interests in Japan led to expansion in Tokyo (2012) and Kobe (2013), the latter being the largest store to date. Partaking in various pop-up ventures and collaborations, Saturdays Surf has been accessible to 17 countries, working with influencers who share their aesthetic.
