Are you fanatical about film or photography? Crazy about cooking? Mad about music? Are you a huge talent waiting to be discovered? Fancy being mentored by the best in the biz, including film and TV star Idris Elba? Want to be on telly? Want to kickstart your career? Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes? Well then, it all starts here.
Samsung’s Launching People project is looking to connect the nation’s next big things with the nation’s current big things, and when we say big, we mean BIG. Four hopefuls will be selected in each of the following categories: Film, Music, Photography and Food. The successful candidates then spend two or three weeks together in a house full of the latest Samsung tech, where they will be filmed for a telly documentary and guided by their category mentor. A winner from each category chosen by the public gets £500 for tuition and up to £2000 of Samsung kit to help them on their way. Sounds incredible. So who are the mentors?
Brit actor Idris Elba, star of The Wire and Luther as well as an experienced producer, is the film category mentor. World famous portrait lensman Rankin takes on the budding photographers. Singer-songwriter and actress Paloma Faith will look after the musicians, and pop-up chef and writer Gizzi Erskine will guide the foodies. To enter you need to submit a two-minute video about you and your ambition – to find out more and get your video uploaded, visit the Launching People website. Good luck!
