Frozen yoghurt chain Samba Swirl only opened its doors in 2011, but just like their delicious dairy delights, the secret to success is keeping things fresh. Shaking the maracas of change is Mizzi Studios, which has recently embarked on a major re-brand – debuting at the company’s new Camden store.
The multicoloured geometric exteriors of terraced favela houses in Rio de Janeiro was one of the main points of reference for the job; inside Samba strips of vivid light criss-cross the ceiling, floor and walls, and serve to lead customers around the various points of interaction in the Samba Swirl experience. To one side a line of yoghurt dispensers jut out like a row of neatly stacked buildings – just twirl a pot under the pump and the lights begin to pulse with rhythmical energy. Next stop is the steely iceberg that holds all the fruity toppings, its shiny surface kaleidoscopically reflecting the LEDs all around. Don’t forget to shimmy over to the paystation before you dig in. Very cool work people…
