London design studio slash gallery slash materials library 19 Greek Street is adding another slash to its multifaceted description with the announcement of a café – a sort of interactive showroom in which to enjoy a refreshing beverage, all the while surrounded by examples of the numerous tasty design collections curated by creative director Marc Peridis.
Neighbourhood pop-up The Full English is supplying the grub, ably supplemented by Paz and Morag’s deliciously naughty Bad Brownie confectionery. Among the examples of great design products on display, we’ve picked out The Well Proven Chair by James Shaw and Marjan van Aubel as particularly worthy of further investigation, and visitors will also have the pleasure of perching on seats by Nina Tolstrup and resting their mocha frappa wotsits on Richard Hutten’s hardback book coffee table. The rather brilliant backdrop of black wool and fishing wire, suspended like a casual illustration, is by Andrea Mancuso and Emilia Serra.
