A dash of Rose’s lime cordial in my vodka is about as green as I usually like my drinks, but then again I do not live as right as I should. It’s certainly true that you are what you eat, but equally you are what you drink, as Sarah from Roots & Bulbs juice bar in London’s Marylebone found out. After long working hours and the stress of modern living had taken their toll, she started researching the health benefits of juices and smoothies, and her life was transformed.
A few years later and along with partner Laurent Cadji she is spreading the word on the considerable health benefits to be enjoyed from all manner of superfood smoothies and juices, cold-pressed to retain more of the nutrients. No daft detox purges recommended here, instead Roots & Bulbs advocates a steady and continuing improvement in nutrition. As for the look of the brand’s first outlet, and the juices may be green, but the copper remains shiny and unoxidised. The metal light fixture is the most eye-catching feature of a calm interior which leans towards natural materials like wood and slate – all embellished with a branding that echoes the interiors’ minimal sophistication.
