It’s always a good sign when a newly-launched magazine reaches issue two, and we’re pleased – although not in the least surprised – to bring you details of the second edition of Riposte. As you will no doubt remember, at the end of last year we clued you in to the woman-centric magazine with a difference, and the sequel edition is due to land on 26 June. Riposte founder and Editor-in-Chief Danielle Pender has given We Heart a preview of what’s between the covers of Issue #2, and my word, has her team been busy.
The publication is built around a 5-4-3-2-1 structure – that’s five ideas, four meetings, three features, two essays and one icon – and in this issue, Metronomy drummer Anna Prior has picked Sheila E as the chosen one. Among the other treats on offer this time around, there’s an interview conducted at the Los Angeles home of graphic designer Deborah Sussman, essays on the brave new world of synthetic biology and the women publishers of north Africa and the Middle East, as well as a 16-page illustrated monograph of Amy Key’s poetry. You can find Riposte at selected galleries and newsagents, or mail order direct from the magazine.
