We love a bit of Victoriana, and household goods store Labour and Wait on Redchurch Street wisely retained the Truman Brewery’s signature green glazed tile from the old Dolphin pub when it took over in 2010. If the frontage is a throwback, then so is the interior, and in the best way; everything within Labour and Wait is carefully chosen and held to high standards of quality and durability, with a timeless approach to design.
Owners Rachel Wythe-Moran and Simon Watkins come from a menswear background in which products were constantly redesigned, and Labour and Wait is now their sanctuary from that tumultuous environment – a place where good objects are given time to establish and mature.
