Very much bucking the trend of London’s youthful restaurant scene, Lyle’s in Shoreditch is a restaurant where you can book a table (by telephone of all things) and encourages a relaxed pace of dining that does wonders for the digestion.
Chef James Lowe was one of the Young Turks Collective and has all the cookery chops you could ask for, and his food, plus the fact that they don’t turn tables here, means you might be in for a bit of a wait – but it’s well worth it. The pared-back interior enhances the relaxed atmosphere, with sparing industrial fittings, whitewashed brick and some lovely feature windows the main attractions.
