More often than not, the inspiration behind a piece of jewellery is difficult to obviously convey. Not in the case of the latest collection; MIMO, by Brighton-based DOWSE.
Featuring all-over symmetry, circles, and curves — the pieces, made from etched brass and steel (and ranging in size and substance) have that distinct Miami Art Deco vibe to them … think round porthole windows; the ‘eyebrows’ of The Carlyle Hotel; graphical waves … but, inspired by a trip to 21st century Miami, Susannah Dowse’s MIMO collection is as much about Wynwood Art District as it is South Beach.
MIMO also features bookmarks and hand-stitched giclée prints, where graffiti and street art influences are overtly apparent, along with DOWSE’s continuing ethos of ‘championing great quality, innovative and affordable British and European-made design-led pieces’. #NowPlaying Crockett’s Theme.
