Born amid the massive minimalism — or essentialism, as they call it — wave five years ago, ETQ is now an established label for clinical footwear obsessives. The brand is dedicated to quality, ageless products that suit forward-thinking fashion devotees; the kind of style reference that is all about high-concept, low-profile.
The brand continues this state of mind by opening its first flagship in the historic centre of Amsterdam, where their discreet success story began. Opening last September, the immaculate space evokes avant-garde galleries and designers’ ‘labs’. The pied-à-terre is located close to their HQ, next to the city’s iconic floating flower market. Designers studiojosvandijk put it all together, on the back of working with the likes of Nike or Scotch and Soda … brands who consider their shops as an extension of their identity, where the products complete the imagined environment naturally. The neat atmosphere perfectly fits the Dutch brand’s DNA, which favours the essential and the simplicity that leave an inimitable footprint.
