British-based studio Sarah Colson Ltd. have been making all the right noises since their 2014 inception, including an Elle Decoration Award for best Lighting Design this year.
Collaborating with mixed-media embroidery designer Aimee Betts, the pair have designed a trio of modern tri-coloured pendant lights complete with vibrant textured cables. The Clara Lux pendants contain two hand-blown glass pieces, which punctuate any space with colour and shape.
We’re told: ‘the pleated form of the glass shade distorts the knitted surface of the cable creating a satisfying layer of tone and texture, the final outcome, a reinvention of a colour-block theme that allows the viewer’s eye to wonder.’ Made from Borosilicate glass (known for having low coefficients of thermal expansion), the pieces can be hung elegantly and independently or, for a stronger look, in formation of a series of clusters.
