Taking inspiration from Venice’s flooded porticos (porches), Sottoportico — named after the interior of these entrances and designed by Seraina Lareida for Portego — is made from a unique method of tufting on a vertical loom.
Manufactured in Venice using top quality New Zealand wool, we’re told the rug ‘aims to evoke typical Venetian architecture and the unmistakeable colours of the city, which is in continual evolution due to the effects of the salt of the Venetian lagoon.’
Embracing tones of Venetian red and green, the pile, which can be custom designed in terms of size and colour, comes into its own when walked upon … allowing you to appreciate its tactility.
