Riding high on success, Barcelona’s much loved chocolate kitchen, chök, has opened a second branch close to its original location just off La Rambla, sending residents and visitors into a cacao-induced haze.
The kitchen is the focal point here, customers able to observe the preparation of products (that include macaroons, cupcakes, chocolate, their renowned chök gourmet donut, and outrageous cronuts), and even get the chance to take part in workshops (for two to six people), in a crisp white space that’s kitted out with neutral hues and natural wood — interior brand concept firm INTSIGHT explaining that the simplicity allows the ‘chöks’ to stand-out on their own.
A more industrial and sterile affair than their original location, custom-made furniture and aesthetically pleasing packaging from espluga + associates sweeten things up a little, but there’s never any doubt as to the indulgently gooey stars of this particular show.
