Overlooking London’s Trafalgar Square, Bronte, a new restaurant that promises ‘health and happiness’ with interiors created by British designer Tom Dixon’s, Design Research Studio (DRS); offering an all-day menu with Antipodean and Pacific influences.
Inspired by its immediate surrounds — Victorian explorers; cabinets of curiosities — the restaurant features an arched glazed façade that leads on to a double-height space with mezzanine, and smaller dining room, all set amongst a backdrop of subtle colours and, as is customary in his interiors projects, a raft of Dixon’s own products: Fade pendants, Curve geometrical lights, and Plane wall lights, each contributing to the aesthetic ambience.
Bronte, Design Research Studio’s first standalone restaurant since Eclectic in Paris, is awash with natural light due to floor-to-ceiling windows, and design features including a pink concrete breakfast bar, green granite kitchen, pewter cocktail bar, and treasures from further afield — in a nod to those traditional collectors of old — that run throughout the design; creating a bold and singular personality.
