Located in Milan’s hip Brera Design District, and marrying two of life’s greatest pleasures (well, two of mine at the very least), Tiramisù Delishoes delivers an unconventional but inspired coupling: part dessert bar, part shoe store. Eek.
A first of-its-kind in Italy, the ground floor of the decorous store is where customers can get their sweet-tooth fixes; the pastry shop and tea room offering a mouth-watering selection of sticky and colourful treats. Downstairs in the basement, a refined restaurant sits amid a resplendent retail area that is filled with shoes and very Milan (darling) fashion accessories.
The vision of manager Antonio Carstulovich — who wanted to bring two apparently distant worlds together through a common component: decor — allows customers to indulge, splash the cash, and blame it all later on a sugar-induced high.
Involved in the project are the founders of Barcelona’s EspaiSucre, lauded for its reinvention of the dessert restaurant, Xano Saguer and Jordi Butron, and its ‘professor’ Ricard Martinez — along with Anna Barattoni, who will be updating the accessories and shoe line; which includes a limited edition range of Paola d’Arcano-designed ‘tiramisu’ heels.
