Barcelona is a beautiful hive of contemporary culture and creativity, which extends to a new wave of mindful artisans who are overseeing a transition in the Catalan capital’s internationally-revered food scene; and All Those is a thoughtful platform that celebrates and nurtures these new talents.
Their ad-hoc artisan food and drink market returns for another edition this weekend — a special edition with a special venue: the city’s noted Teatre Nacional de Catalunya. Taking over the evocative space, September’s food market presents a Japanese Special Edition, comprising workshops; dishes from revered chef Kenji Ueno (of local restaurants Aiueno and Can Kenji); cold ramen from the Grasshopper Ramen Bar; and culinary treats like matcha tea, pear wasabi and miso apricot jams, and mochis by Niji.
Aside from the far eastern flavours, expect ice creams from the ever-popular Delacrem; smoked delicacies by Rooftop Smokehouse; craft beer from top local brewers Garage Beer Co and Cyclic Beer Farm; third wave caffeine fixes from Nomad Coffee, alongside live music and theatre performances. A range of workshops will continue through the weekend, including baking homemade sourdough and home-brewing beer; a full list can be perused at tienda.allthose.org.
