Split into three distinct zones, BIT (Bloom In Town) is a mixology bar cum restaurant with kitschy tropical interiors and seductive vibes in the beautiful old Italian city of Molfetta.
Designed by studios Diorama and Small, who carefully restored the interiors of the original stone building, Bloom In Town features brushed brass surfaces, metal sheets painted with vivid colours, rattan furniture, and a variety of plants and flowers. Characterised by different sizes and decoration, the three rooms illustrate the skills of both local craftsmen and Diorama, who together designed the tables, sofas, customised bottle display, and ten-meter counter found in the main room; alongside wallpaper and fabric inspired by the botanical and wildlife.
A smaller second room is inspired by the alleyways of Havana — a snug, informal space with bamboo pendant lamps that give off a soft glow. The venue’s third room — with its quirky mirrors, ornamental plates, large prints, vintage lamps, and souvenirs from all around the world — pays tribute to local traditions; stone vaults and rich vegetation in particular.
With a blackboard proudly announcing the dishes of the day, and a menu of crafted cocktails and fine wine, BIT really is blooming in this handsome south Italian town.
