A storied destination since 1923 and passed down through generations, Cambridge Beaches Bermuda is set on a 23-acre private peninsula surrounded by ocean and bay waters and has been completely reimagined, the paradisical icon ready and waiting to write its next chapter in luxury hospitality.
Comprised of cottage-style accommodations that offer unparalleled views of the water, along with immersive dining experiences, Cambridge Beaches is a first of its kind for the island, the update led by Phil Hospod of hospitality group Dovetail + Co, with interior design by Kellyann Hee (formerly of Soho House, with design credits that include The Hoxton Williamsburg), blending authentic old-world charm with elegantly appointed interiors.
Working with existing architectural details that date back to the 17th century, the cottages feature a mix of Portuguese, Spanish and British aesthetics, each with expansive outdoor patios and panoramic water views of either the Atlantic Ocean or Mangrove Bay. Tropical charm pairs floral prints and vibrant colours, whilst curated collections of bespoke furniture and contemporary modern art by Bermudian artists, add a touch of luxury.
The 86 rooms count 300 count linens, robes and slippers, Nespresso coffee makers and Molten Brown bath amenities as standard, whilst the cottages——some boasting private swim-up plunge pools——are equipped with an outdoor shower, chaise lounge chairs to soak in the sun, a spacious dressing room, and luxurious bathroom with a tub and separate walk-in shower.
Situated just steps from the water, Breezes is an alfresco restaurant serving elevated island cuisine with a side of killer sunset, whilst Sunken Harbor Club from award-winning mixologist and restaurateur, St. John Frizell of Sunken Harbor Club in Brooklyn, keeps guests suitably hydrated on these long warm days.
From 1923 till today, Cambridge Beaches Bermuda’s latest incarnation is an opportunity for a new generation to enjoy the classic luxury of this storied beach resort.
