Following an extensive renovation, renowned hotel The Place Firenze reopens with 20 luxurious rooms and suites in the heart of beautiful Florence.
Overlooking the Piazza Santa Maria Novella, the hotel from boutique Italian hotel group, The Hospitality Experience, has been designed by Luigi Fragola Architectural Studio and inspired by the work of Italian Renaissance architect Leon Battista Alberti; known in particular for the adored Santa Maria Novella Church which sits directly across from the property. Taking the church’s façade, colour palette, and historical location into consideration, Fragola has sought to transform the property into an elegant, contemporary respite that simultaneously evokes the familiar sense of home.
The refined guest rooms each feature a unique layout, refined wooden parquet floors and elegant bathrooms, while the suites and lofts offer the height of comfort and the peak of elegance through spacious, open plan accommodations that spare no details in modern design while staying true to an exclusive, intimate Florentine style.
Public spaces, such as The Fireplace, Studiolo, and Glass Yard, provide guests with serene environments for relaxation, dining, and reflection. Each space is curated with a calming colour palette of greens and creams, tactile materials, and custom furnishings. Florentine art and architecture can also be found throughout, the property boasting a curated selection of paintings, sculptures, and décor crafted by local artisans, including select items from those participating in their philanthropic foundation, The Place of Wonders.
The Kitchen & The Bar is the convivial heart of the hotel, which is deep rooted in Tuscan tradition and celebrates the region’s rich, rustic gastronomy with distinctive seasonal menus created by chef Asso Migliore. THE PLACE Firenze’s cocktail lounge provides a diverse menu of classic favourites and playful concoctions led by food and beverage manager, Zaccaria Medda.
