With roots dating back to 1450, Fink is a nine-bedroom inn with centuries-old stone walls and vaults. A former coppersmith, post office, and coffeehouse, the boutique property nods to its past, present and future thanks to a thoughtful restoration carried out by ASAGGIO architects.
Located in Brixen, a town in northern Italy known for its baroque-style cathedral, Fink oozes a timeless ambiance that synchronises with the essence of its surroundings, including the Dolomiti UNESCO World Heritage Site. A member of THE AFICIONADOS travel resource, the nine suites are complemented by an underground spa featuring Roman bathing rituals, and its restaurant, Losterkuche, which sources fresh ingredients from local farmers and producers to offer plant-forward and vegan menus.
ASAGGIO cleverly married the building’s historic elements with modern touches, seamlessly integrating original frescoes, rounded arches, and wooden doors with lime-washed walls and minimalist décor. Owners Petra and Florian speculate that the building may have served monastic purposes in the past, so today, Fink stands as a sanctuary of tranquility and beauty, accommodating guests and travellers who appreciate considerate design.
Heritage wooden doors open into elegant suites which feature a clean aesthetic that accentuates the charm of the property. Unique in layout and size, each room is home to modern amenities that blend seamlessly with the historic backdrop, creating a luxurious yet comforting atmosphere, while the simplicity of the furniture and fittings harmonise with the aura.
Boasting interiors that underline the value and effect of the old walls and round arches of the townhouse while bringing the original character back to life, Fink Brixen is an exquisite bolthole for the discerning traveller.
