Located at the corner of Rue de la Trémoille and Rue Boccador in Paris, restaurant Suelo will open soon as a homage to Spain, celebrating all things Mediterranean including its cuisine and cultural vibrancy.
Designed by esteemed interior designer Lázaro Rosa-Violán, Suelo features a warm but colourful palette with contrasting materials and references to exoticism, Moorish architecture and unique art pieces. One of the bespoke pieces is an XXL aqua green wall mural hand-painted by Chloé Costes, inspired by aquatic world and Mediterranean. On the opposite side of the dining room stands a custom-made white plaster mural inspired by Barcelona’s famous Parc Güell, created by Tollis Studio; Rosa-Violán himself from Catalan heritage.
Co-founded by Vincent Biessy, the restaurant boasts bay windows which, on sunny days, fuse the indoor and outdoor experience with a large terrace linking the two together. With a focus on joyous gatherings and long relaxed dinners, Suelo Paris is a welcoming spot where something is always happening. From the central bar that sets the tone for the restaurant’s ambiance and is an integral part of the room’s animation, to the Iberian counter where diners can choose a fish of the day, ‘joie de vivre’ is what comes to mind when describing this place.
Iconic and finest Spanish products will be featured on the menu, including an extensive selection of Iberian hams, Carabineros prawns, king crab, seafood, and Basque cheesecake. Luxurious ingredients will add a refined touch to the classics: think caviar, bluefin tuna and dry-aged wagyu beef from Madrid specialist Discarlux. With dishes meant for sharing, plates are authentic, although the reimagined Mediterranean cuisine will include bold twists.
Dig around to find a secret and extravagant lair — we won’t spoil the fun by saying where, but the three images above may offer a gentle clue — where one may party into the early hours in a privileged den of design-led decadence that will be open from Wednesday to Saturday each week.
