Located in the charming town of Filandia in the Quindío region of Colombia, Mirum is a revolutionary culinary project with staggering aesthetics conceived by Bogotá-based interior and architecture studio Crearq. Spanning 760 square metres, the restaurant and grounds (which add an additional 2,000 square metres to the site) feature a masterful blend of contrasts, where the tangible and intangible, the corporeal and ethereal, coalesce in harmony.
Inspired by the concept of ‘psychotopia’, the team embarked on a journey to unravel the history, appearance, and past of this unique site; designing a space that transcends its physical location. The name Mirum, derived from Latin, reflects the intrinsic duality of the project, where two syllables embody the coexistence of opposites.
Crearq’s design language for this truly impressive project is characterised by the interplay of two souls: the Soul of Terra, inspired by the material (the corporeal), and the Soul of Aether, which draws artistry from transparency, purity, and illumination. This dichotomy is reflected in the carefully curated materials and colour palette, where earthy tones and natural textures meet sleek, modern lines.
As you step into this culinary gem, you’ll be surrounded by the abundant landscape of Quindío, with its gentle hills and imposing trees. The menu is a celebration of Colombian cuisine with dishes that blend traditional flavours and contemporary twists, diners invited to embark on a gastronomic journey through the region’s rich culinary heritage.
