Lobster Club, Puerto Portals

Inspired by the movement of waves and rich in classic yacht club style, Puerto Portals' Lobster Club is a decadent beach club...

Boasting an exceptional location overlooking the yachts of Puerto Portals on the island of Mallorca, the Lobster Club is a beach club with three distinct spaces: a restaurant, pool and panoramic terrace. And, with interiors by Barcelona-based studio Sandra Tarruella Interioristas, those looking to disconnect, eat well, and soak up the rays of the sun on the Mediterranean coast can expect an alluring design-led venue that will have you wanting to come back for more.

The brainchild of Juan Picornell of Grupo Cappuccino, the Lobster Club was inspired by the sea; the building it’s situated within evoking the movement of ocean waves through its architecture. Taking further inspiration from yacht-like elements, the design introduces a dynamic ambience that transforms throughout the day.

Materials such as iroko wood, polished steel, and hand-crafted glossy tiles were used throughout adding a sense of suaveness, while creating a visual identity that screams “summer day by the sea.” An installation by Ramon De Los Heros Manchado can be found suspended from the ceiling featuring moulded wooden figures resembling manta rays, the elegant shapes following the lines and contours of the ceiling as though swimming towards the horizon beneath the building’s wave-like architectural form.

A relaxed space, the dining area is home to a selection of seating arrangements from the casual cantina area with a solid wood, rounded table and matching stools, to the lounge-style seating in the main dining room with low armchairs, and the main hall where guests can choose between side benches or central tables. Outside on the terrace, diners are greeted with tables covered in white linens and complemented by blue-and-white striped chairs, as well as umbrellas in a variety of colours; all lending this Puerto Portals locale a retro yacht club vibe that we’re more than happy to soak up.

The infinity pool is without a doubt the Lobster Club’s focal point. Surrounded by sun loungers and Balinese beds in a palette that transitions from aqua blue and turquoise to navy and lime green, it’s the place to settle down for the day and enjoy the vibrancy of the space.

A seasonal club for those who want to immerse themselves in the ‘bonne vie’ of Mallorca, Lobster Club Puerto Portals is a must-visit for those lucky enough to make it over to this beautiful part of the island.
