Sónar 2025 Completes Musical Programme

Sónar 2025 completes music programme as the global convergence of music, art, and technology returns for 32nd edition...

Long-time perusers of these pages will know about our love affair with Barcelona’s convention shattering Sónar festival; having just completed the musical programme for its forthcoming 32nd edition, We Heart can already feel the sticky spirit of summer cutting into the crisp February chill.

With 51 new additions to the bill taking the number of sets, shows and performances to 117 across 10 stages and two locations, the likes of Dengue Dengue Dengue, Actress and Skee Mask, Josh Caffé and house legend Ultra Naté have topped off an already sensational lineup that includes BICEP, Four Tet, Honey Dijon, Skrillex and Blawan, Overmono, Plastikman and a whole host of DJs, performers, artists and risk-takers from every corner of the globe who span the entire gamut of electronic music and beyond.

In addition to performers announced, the Barcelona festival also announces a new friend in the shape of Boiler Room, which makes its debut at the festival with a stage at Sónar by Night, which will accompany Printworks London who return on the back of a hugely successful debut at last summer’s event. Expect once again their 6x10m vertical screen, horizontal lighting over the dance floor, and excellent programming.

The much-renowned Sónar by Day sunset slots have also just been announced with young Brazilian house aficionado MOCHAKK taking over Thursday night’s proceedings, veritable icon Honey Dijon set to pack the SonarVillage to the absolute rafters, and the brilliant Overmono bringing the sound of UK electronica to Saturday’s day time closer.

Sónar 2025 will again confirm itself as the beating heart of Sónar Week, the citywide coming together of progressive sound, culture, and cutting-edge technology. From OFFSónar’s label-driven parties at Poble Espanyol to avant-garde film at +RAIN Festival and orchestral experiments at Palau de la Música Catalana, the week cements Barcelona as the global capital of electronic music.

Sónar+D also returns with an eye on the future, tackling the intersections of art, technology, and society. The Open Call for Project Area 2025 is now live, inviting boundary-pushing ideas to the stage ahead of the 22nd December deadline. This year’s programme will revolve around three bold themes: ‘AI + Creativity,’ an exploration of artificial intelligence as both muse and medium; ‘Futuring the creative industries,’ a deep dive into the art and entertainment landscapes of 2030; and ‘Worlds to come,’ a visionary look at everything from quantum realms to interstellar possibilities. The full Sónar+D lineup lands in the coming weeks.

Again confirming itself as the world’s leading convergence of progressiveness across the many disciplines of music and art, all types of tickets for Sónar 2025 are now on sale at sonar.es; you won’t want to miss it.
