MYKITA lands in Monterrey with a striking new concept store that masterfully blends German precision with Mexican industrial heritage. Designed by JDE Design and led by Jorge Diego Etienne, the sleek new space in Plaza O2, San Pedro Garza García, offers an enhanced retail experience; a carefully curated dialogue between minimalist aesthetics and the raw, functional spirit of its surroundings.
A brand synonymous with technical precision and boundary-pushing design, MYKITA’s DNA is reflected in every inch of the store. Stainless steel, a defining feature of the brand’s eyewear, dominates the interior, echoing Berlin’s industrial soul. Meanwhile, traditional materials such as clay and ceramic pay homage to Monterrey’s rich cultural landscape, forging a connection between contemporary design and local authenticity.
A signature of MYKITA spaces worldwide, the MYKITA Wall takes centre stage, its clean white backdrop allowing the eyewear collections to be the focus. Elsewhere, polished steel surfaces interact with natural light to create a dynamic, ever-changing atmosphere. Pieces from the René collection have been designed by JDE for Los Patrones, and add an artisanal edge to the space. With soft, curved forms and a raw steel finish, these furniture pieces juxtapose the store’s crisp, geometric design, offering a tactile balance between structure and fluidity.
Visitors are invited to engage with the design, whether perching on high stools at the central bar or relaxing on the exterior bench, a subtle invitation to pause and appreciate the craftsmanship at play.
