A new dining experience arrives in New York‘s Industry City, as Confidant — the first full-service restaurant in this burgeoning Brooklyn hub — opens its doors this month. The brainchild of chef-owners Brendan Kelley (Aska, Per Se) and Daniel Grossman (Gage & Tollner, Foul Witch), Confidant is rooted in a seasonally evolving menu that places dry-aged fish and meats at the forefront, sourced from local purveyors like Ends Meat and Fort Hamilton Distillery.
Designed by the ownership team, the 65-seat space channels a refined industrial aesthetic, effortlessly blending natural materials with raw, urban textures. Deep green walls can be found in the intimate dining area anchored by a handcrafted oak bar and a six-seat chef’s counter, offering a peek of the open kitchen.

The warm walnut tables, meticulously crafted by Brooklyn-based artisan Liam Crill, add a personal touch, while vintage artworks — many with familial significance to the team — hang throughout the space. Polished cement columns, mismatched lounge seating, and lush greenery enhance the venue’s understated charm, with outdoor courtyard seating set to debut during warmer months. The bathrooms continue Confidant’s attention to detail, one themed with a natural landscape, the other adorned with a vintage Brooklyn map pinpointing the restaurant’s exact location.
Beyond its impressive interiors, Confidant brings together an enviable team consisting of pastry chef Mariah Neston (Le Rock, Major Food Group), curator of hyper-seasonal desserts and comforting breads, and Cody Pruitt of Libertine, who lends his expertise to a beverage program that reimagines classic cocktails with local spirits and seasonal ingredients.
A culmination of the chefs’ travels, culinary expertise, and dedication to craftsmanship, Confidant delivers a dining experience that is rich in authenticity and creativity. As Industry City continues to thrive, this new addition promises to bring plenty more flocking to this cultured corner of Brooklyn.
