Félix Landrum, the owner behind Charleston‘s Parisian-inspired restaurant and cocktail bar, Félix Cocktails et Cuisine, has opened La Cave, a sipping lounge and salon privé located next door to its sister venue, which transports its guests to the south of France, where vineyards dominate the countryside and elegant Provençal style is on full display.
Designed by Félix’s wife and partner Leslie Landrum, the space -isinspired the couple’s frequent travels to the south of France and nods to old European charm with reclaimed wooden beams, custom coffered tiles, light blonde wood floors laid in a herringbone parquet, and exposed stone walls.
Thanks to large, street-facing windows, light pours into the intimate dining room and bar which seats 12, and features a dramatic crown moulding drop down ceiling where two oversized chandeliers hang; glass-front cabinets flank either side, boasting a curated selection of all-French wines and an impressive collection of rare whiskeys.
Félix and Leslie’s daughter Pierette’s hand-painted family portraits can be found hung on the walls of the lounge, which — alongside sourced and shopped antiques — once again solidifies the couple’s love affair with the south France.
From petit plats that are meant to be leisurely shared, to organic French wines and inspired cocktails, La Cave (which translates to ‘the cellar’) is another splendid addition to Charleston’s already burgeoning culinary and social scene. C’est merveilleux!
