You may recall our feature a little back, “Louboutin Fever Hits London” we sensationally declared – our inner regional news anchor trickling out. Well, it did, and it’s still hitting – like a vintage heavyweight. The Design Museum’s 20 year retrospective runs ’til 9th July, and is in fine fettle; London-based design consultancy Household having delivered a killer blow with their impressive exhibition design.
All showy-splendour, it’s like the bastard love-child of a champagne fuelled night at Moulin Rouge and a particularly extravagant fashion show. It’s very Louboutin, and it’s very Parisian… fans of Sex and the City may spontaneously combust in fits of OMG. There’s lights, there’s mirrors, there’s carousels… lots of red, lots of black, and of course, lots of shoes. There’s a hologram of Dita Von Teese, and why not? They’re so terribly en vogue right now, don’t you know?
