Making wine in California. As ways to earn a living go, it would make all but the most devout tee-totaller’s wish list, and when you add in one of the most aesthetically pleasing locations we’ve seen… well let’s just say a change of vocation is being considered.
Situated 30 minutes from San Francisco, Ram’s Gate Winery‘s design mastermind is architect Howard Bracken, who re-imagined the weather-beaten ranch in his trademark style. His mixture of indoor living space placed outside takes maximum advantage of the magnificent scenery on the doorstep. The interior’s minimalism was the work of Orlando Diaz-Acuzy.
There’s an abundance of different ways to enjoy the wine being grown here; visitors can take all manner of tours, go on picnics, or just pretend to spit the lovely stuff back out at a tasting. A food and wine airing course is also on offer for the budding amateur sommelier.
Maybe We Heart would let me take a sabbatical. That would be a very good year…
