Looking for a smart hotel in New York with a bit of individuality, some nice facilities and a killer view of the Manhattan skyline? As usual, we’ve done all the hard work so you don’t have to. Let us introduce you to King & Grove in Brooklyn’s super-cool Williamsburg district.
Sitting next to the recently-revamped McCarren Park, the hotel makes the most of it’s assets with a cool roof deck overlooking the tennis courts, continuing the country club feel (King & Grove is brought to you by the same summer camp nostalgists behind the recently featured Ruschmeyer’s Montauk) with racquets crossed above the bar. If you’re feeling energetic, there’s an open air salt-water swimming pool to get the blood pumping, or you can join a 3.5 hour bike ride through Brooklyn. Alternatively you could just order a cocktail and gaze at the iconic skyline.
The rooms, while not ground-breaking in their design (like another recently featured local hotel), at least offer some quirky chairage – courtesy of some classic Eames Rockers – and even the cheapest rooms have views of the poolside area for those with voyeuristic tendencies. We’re not here to judge.
