Celebrating their hugely successful last decade in style, San Francisco’s Shooting Gallery are hosting one final Winter Group Show shindig at their popular 839 Larkin gallery – before heading off to greener pastures, or more specifically: the newly renovated building that will signal the gallery’s snowballing success. Looking back, and forward, the show is inevitably comprised by their favourite and most loved artists – show-stopping works from the likes of Bryan Schnelle, Michael Page, Morgan Slade and Ernesto Yerena show off the curator’s passions for all things outsider art, counterculture, and street art.
Slade’s hot models embellished with frantic comic-book inspired paint and pen works, Page’s whimsical paintings, and Schnelle’s collaged skulls are particular standouts amongst a typically eclectic selection from the San Francisco gallery. Open up to the public until 2nd February, Shooting Gallery’s 2013 Winter Group Show is a defining moment in a defining gallery’s lifetime – here’s to their new venue. The king is dead, long live the king.
