It’s the age old story: boy with a passion for restaurants meets girl with a passion for healthy food. Damien and Agathe decided to combine their passions, et voilà, Café PINSON in Paris. The doors have opened on PINSON 10e, the second café from the partnership, and as with PINSON 3e, designer Dorothée Meilichzon was there to assist with the delivery. And, much like their owners, this pair make a charming couple.
Remember Meilichzon’s work on this side of the Channel at Covent Garden’s Compagnie des Vins Surnaturels Seven Dials? Well this may be a case of where London leads, Paris follows, as the brilliant bold print seating already propping up epicures in CVSSD is making a well-deserved encore at the new 10th arrondissement outpost. Natural light, natural materials and colours underpin the principles of the menu. Equally handsome, the original venue offers a more laid back approach; light stone creates a rustic, healthy glow in PINSON 3e’s front section, which is dominated by a couple of handsome wooden counter units. A smart cushion-filled library area is in complete contrast, more attuned to leisurely lunches at a relaxed pace.
