Fans of Another Country‘s crafty furniture and homewares can now walk amongst the company’s collections, fondle the fabric and caress the carved wood after the opening of Another Country’s headquarters and first retail outlet, located in London’s Marylebone. There’s 1,400ft2 of shop to wander dreamily around, and the space is full of desirable stuff in the shape of tables, chairs, desks, stools and the especially nice daybeds.
Joining Another Country’s own products are items from other companies whose design and philosophy dovetails perfectly with theirs. Sitting on the desks, for example, you will find Palomino pencils and Le Typographe stationery from Brussels. Lighting from Brooklyn-based Workstead is sold here, as is David Mellor cutlery, 31 Chapel Lane linen and Ian McIntyre pottery. In addition to the retail space, the lower ground floor will host visiting interior designers and architects, an there’s even a little city garden that’s perfect for a quick meeting over coffee.
