The life of a model, eh? The glamorous assignments in exotic locations, showered with invitations to the most exclusive parties, great seats for the tennis and impossible tables in the best restaurants made available with a click of the maître d’s perfectly-manicured fingers. Occasionally though, you have to sit in a chair for yonks and be spray-painted with a pattern that matches your clothes, so it’s a case of what you lose on the swings, you gain on the roundabouts.
German clothing and lifestyle brand Ucon Acrobatics thought it would be an interesting exercise to see what their material patterns would look like directly applied to a model’s skin, and so recruited leading Berlin make-up artist Sutida to perform the complex transposition (it’s something of a speciality for her). When the amazing paint jobs were paired with the corresponding garment from the Ucon collection, an interesting blurring occurred between the fabric and the skin, and made for some smashing photos by Moritz Fuchs.
