Some of the world’s most impressive, beautiful, and downright odd buildings can be seen at their most interesting at Sto Werkstatt in Clerkenwell as the gallery hosts an exhibition of award-winning architectural photography. The images on display all scooped prizes at The Arcaid Images Architectural Photography Awards 2014, and are the work of 14 of the world’s most renowned architectural photographers including Hufton + Crow (overall competition winners), David Borland, Sonia Mangiapane and Tim Van de Velde.
The Building Images exhibition is arranged in four sections – Buildings in Use, Exteriors, Interiors and Sense of Place – and features photography which succeeds on a level beyond mere representation of brilliant architecture. A panel of highly acclaimed experts such as Sir Terry Farrell gathered during the World Architecture Festival to decide on the winners, taking into account composition, light atmosphere and use of scale in how the structures – some fairly modest – were captured. From the quirky to the dazzling, the collection is free to view at the Woodbridge Street gallery from 15 January to 26 February (Wednesday to Friday).
